I didn't see the half glass hatch. Hey it's Stephen's car. :)

If you're going to the trouble of fitting or changing a spoiler then you may as well go for the ultimate which is the 300 Sport. AKA S4s.

Not really doing it for me but to each his own...

Doesn't it cut into your rear view too?

The S4 wing sits at the top of your rear view. It's fine.

Well, with the glass back, the wing may actually have an influence on downforce.

I'm personally not much into the high positioned wings, but it doesn't really look out of place.

I would prefer a Sport300 wing instead. And the rest of the Sport300 as well ;)

Did you screw or glue it?

Kind regards,

Jacques.

Spoilers up! (ooops, there I said it).

Beeing from the country of the "myseost" I think your car now look like a cheese slicer.

Like many others i will go for the "Sport 300" wing if any!

I must admit I prefer the standard SE spoiler to the S4 one...

But I am interested how you fixed it to the glass. I've thought about fitting a spoiler from a highwing SE, but don't want to lose the glass. The Sport 300 spoiler isn't an option for me, I would be too much of a pain when loading/unloading the rear boot.

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

This is interesting, I took off the spoiler last week to replace the struts and noticed the car ran hotter, didn't think too much about it. Installed the spoiler again and she running cooler !!! , so off it came again and yes, car running between 5 and 10deg hotter. wouldn't have thought it would make much difference.

My car is the S4. I lived with the S4 spoiler for a couple of years but when a reasonably priced S4s spoiler came up for sale I grabbed it. For a while I drove the car with no spoiler and preferred that to the S4 unit.

Its totally a preferred taste for me. absolutely no performance difference IMO.

Looks way better from behind also.

That is very interesting.  Perhaps the S4 directs more air down into the engine bay somehow.  Great job on the brackets.   I actually have a V8 and I almost like the SE wing better.   But your car looks great too.   Cheers

Not sure about the S4 airflow pattern, but the V8 manual shows the airflow as exiting the engine hatch cover louvres. Which relegates the question of the S4 with or without the spoiler cooling question to the same realm as Robin Williams' observation that "There are some things that are just not meant to be known, such as, how does Venus de Milo hitchhike?"

A case could be made, however, that [hot] air exiting the engine bay is just as effective in heat reduction via heat removal (in which case the spoiler might or might not assist) as inflow of ambient [cooler] air is.

It must be the combination of the glass window and spoiler sucking the air through the engine compartment,  the spoiler lays directly over the opening.
