Time for a new battery on the CR,  current one's no longer holding charge.
It appears the one used on the CR is no longer available and its secured differently to a standard V6 one.
Clamps over the top rather than at the bottom.

Anyone got recommendations on a replacement?

go for that: https://www.liteblox.de/shop/liteblox-lb19xx-motorsport-batterie/

by the way: what does the original battery in the V6 weigh?

interesting product.

I have followed the configurator : https://www.liteblox.de/fahrzeug-konfigurator-liteblox-batteries/ and get the same model :)

The "biggest" model is just 2,6KG...

So ! I have been reading this post, which is pretty much the only one about batteries on the web for the v6 ... Can we have some feedback please from people who went for the lithium solution for a couple of months now ??

Also the links are not up to date anymore of course, what is exactly the shorai model you went for ? A lithium battery will last more than a week without the charger ? In case of a holiday with the car, and you never know she does not move for a week ..

Also SSc propose that kit now, looks good value. Spending more than 1000 pounds for an install is a bit extreme to me, I sometime am away for the week, if I forget to plug the battery, that would be an expensive mistake ..

Page 8 of my build thread ;)

There is no better weight saving option than to invest in a lithium battery. My rationale of buying the option from @Seriouslylotus vs Shorai is documented in my build thread.

No problems since installing and I don’t always connect to a charger that said haven’t tested anything longer than a week unconnected or car unused.

Just dragging up this old thread.. how are people getting on with Lithium batteries? Anyone got any new recommendations? Need a new battery, thought I might as well lose some weight in the process.

Recently fitted an Aliant YLP30 purchased from Demon Tweeks. Produced in house in Italy.

Just 1.7kg and has started the car 5/6 times without any issues. Will report back in a few months with any issues.

I’m sure it looks closer than it is but please insulate those terminals or at least that cage!

Looks good value for that. Are you keeping it on a maintenance charger all the time?

Hi looking to get a new battery at the moment - does this battery fit in the standard OEM bracket? Any problems with starting ? Many thanks

It does not fit the standard bracket as is much smaller. I fashioned one using a piece of alu plate and the existing battery tray bolts.

No problems with starting even after being left off the battery tender for 7 days.

Very impressed so far.

Sorry to resurrect the thread but I need to replace the battery in my Sport 350 and I’m toying with the idea of

- regular replacement

- lightweight lead acid

- lithium

tempted to avoid lithium unless there is a good enough reason.  The existing battery (from new) is a “Platinum” branded one.

The car is used occasionally for road use (no track use yet, or planned), and I usually keep it on a trickle charger.

Any recommendations ?  I recently bought an odyssey PC545 for my 340R which was highly recommended, but assume I need something bigger for the Exige ?  Think i have seen some people have gone for the PC680.

After a bit of research I am about to go for a Skyrich HJTX30L-FP, 1.8Kg, 540CCA, -5°C - 80°C, 60A max charging, for 260€ here in France + a kill switch. I will be using strap mount as it is so light and can always quickly remove it for indoor charging or pre-heating at indoor temp (while parking outside in very cold conditions).

I would advise against using a Shorai. I wrote to the manufacturer who strongly discouraged me from using those in a car, the max operating temp is 60°C which could easily happen in the trunk in summer + battery load. The max charging current is also only 24A, where most car speced lithium battery have at least 60A max charging current (such as the $$$ Komotec or OEM Cup options) and the alternator in the Exige can deliver 75A+.

I you go for other options, things to look for are 480+ CCA, min/max temperature matching your real life conditions + a fair amount of margin (you don't want to overheat a Lithium battery) and 60A+ max charging current.
