Question, why do people not stick their cars on SOR with a reputable dealer? On the face of it I would guess the seller of this car would get around £29k on SOR with someone like Silverstone in this case. IMHO he is basically asking main dealer forcourt price on PH currently and as we saw with the last private sale they will make a lot less on eBay. The same with the red one in Scotland, if he spoke to Brandon @ MMC I'm sure he would of had his current asking price by now. I still think private sales are few and far between with Evora's, not saying they do not happen but appears IMHO most buyers prefer main Lotus dealer backup/facilities.

They look stunning though, but of course I'm biased ;)

Unless it's a ruse ...."of course it's for sale dear, see look it's on eBay" knowing full well it's going to be on the drive for a while longer ;)

I agree, I think SOR with a Lotus dealer would probably sell it the quickest as even at £25k plus, most people would want some sort of finance and a warranty, however fickle the aftermarket warranty would be.  Failing that, stick it on here in the classifieds, especially if you are active on the forum, attend the local group meets etc., so people know you as the seller and can easily see and verify that the car has been loved etc. At the end of the day it is about piece of mind.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

While SOR appears to be an easy option, it's also a costly one; sold my Elise SOR and got around £4K less than the asking price, realistically this car would go for less than £30k at a dealer; I reckon the seller fancies his chances of getting over £26k for it so there's no harm in him marketing it now himself, even if he does eventually go down the SOR route it will have cost him nothing.

Good luck to him, looks like a good car.

Ok given the current Evora shortage I'd expect to see this at £31k on a forecourt and going for £30k so £26k SOR is probably about right.

I do find though that on here the trend seems to be to want the prices low, and I do think the Evora in noth NA and S guise is undervalued given the drive, performance and rarity of the cars. I for one hope the values of the Series One stay strong and I think more and more of the older cars are being well looked after with owners thinking of keeping them for the long term.

But heh, what do I really know. Other than it seams the people who really want one need to hunt and fight hard to get one ;)
