due to the nature of the issue - there is 'go back' option either ... Since hanger111 believe that the issue will still be there if they took car back to stock...

My answer with such issues is always the same: If you want to believe, go to church.

When having such kind of issues, you need to step back to the last runing configuration. Only this handling insures to see if this fault is linked to the new installations or not. Of course this is bad for the supplier, because it costs time and money. But now it's your time and money, because you cannot run the car.

For me it's quiet clear: 2 weeks for testing and checking is okay, but than there must be done decisions even if there are unpleasant.

Farook: sorry to hear that your conversion is that much trouble - I hope they will find the issue asap!!!

I ended up ordering the EX460 Kit as well as the Oehlins Track Suspension. My installation will be on Oct 6 and Oct 7 at KT. I hope all goes well, and if, you will hear more details of my experience begining of October.

Cheers guys for the thoughts and advice as well.

norbert - interesting that KT only take two days. Btw I have heard that the ttx ohlins are a completely different level and worth the extra over the track suspension.

good luck and look forward to hearing about your upgrade.

I am staying there while they do it and plan to take the car with me again the second day in the evening ... so, fingers crossed ;-)

farook - I hope they get to the bottom of the issue, it already sounds like it is dragging on.

If it were me I may think about reverting back to standard spec if the problem cannot be resolved properly and within a reasonable time frame.

I'm interested in your comment that they are "keen to solve the issue" ! - this should read "they are obligated to solve the issue" ! if the issue wasn't there beforehand and quite frankly the length of time they've had your car is deplorable.  I would be livid and there must be a "revert back" option.  If I were in the market for this upgrade, I wouldn't be touching it until your issue is rectified promptly.

I had an issue a few years ago with a Komo-Tec S/C upgrade - the tune had a few problems with it and they couldn't solve it due to the remoteness.  They only took it so far (but it dragged on for about 8 months) but I ended up having to solve it myself (at a huge expense) because I got sick and tired of it dragging on for so long.

A friend of mine is specialist in ECU modifications. He is going to be involved, when people having troubles with cars and plug and play solutions which are not running.

From what I saw there, I know a 100% that it's not possible to solve that troubles when you are not knowing deep in details what's going on with this system. And even if it costs a lot of money for the sales partner which installed the kit, without going back to the origin and insure that the system is running, it's like being a blind mine sweeper in mine field.

No one is suggesting that we are not obligated to resolve the problem - of course, both us and Farook are keen for the car to be sorted with the upgrade, and we are very grateful for Farooks patience and understanding of the time it has taken.  There is a roll-back option, but at present we know we are dealing with an issue that is not related to the upgrade at all, as we have proven this now.  The car is ballistically quick, with beautifully cool inlet temperatures even when driving hard in 30c+ ambient.  We have a number of these cars out there and they are running without issue.

Farook - is it fixed yet or are they still scratching their heads?

So, an update...

- reminder: the issue was an mil/miss fire on a cold start

- upon checking the charger they found the seals had collapsed and likely to be causing the air leak leading to the mis Fire issue; this did not solve the problem

- upon further checking it was found that one of the injectors was seeping fuel and could be causing the issue especially on a cold start

- I think the seals have been replaced and the injectors should have arrived and been/being fitted, no update since Mon when the naughty injector was found. Clearly, Lotus didn't have any in stock, so they were sourced directly from Toyota...

- the seal and the seeping injector are actual finds/problems beyond the O2 sensors. Hopefully we have come to an end of this saga... As soon as I hear I will update... Next week it will be 12weeks.... Norbert was saying his will be done in two days! Whilst we have had a Total nightmare - I guess this is part of the consideration when undertaking mods....

@farook, car looked good when I picked mine up from H111 on Friday. I would ask you if you are missing it, but can't be that bad when you've got a Sagaris and GT3 in the garage as well!

Hi - thanks! I was very much missing it, thou I have had other toys to keep me occupied as well as use to all the track days and events I had booked and was hoping to take the upgraded v6 cup too.

Farook: very happy to read that your car is up and running again ???

...And also good to know what caused the issue ... mine has just a little over 8k kms on it ... if this is a common issue ... Lotus will hopefully address it properly during the next services...

Cheers

I think we've heard a few diverter valves fail on here, but can't confirm from memory if heat was the confirmed cause of the other failures. That said, they're robust items in isolation so the installation-specific failure mode (by that I mean location in the engine bay by Lotus,  not meaning a Komotec 'install' related failure) Farook describes is unlikely to be unique.

Glad you have got it sorted Farook :)

I was wondering if it was you that I was talking to at Anglesey in May. Driving a GT3 and a couple of mates, one of them driving a Sector 7 Jag ?

Is the diverter valve the supercharger bypass valve thing? Mine went on my S2.

Glad it's sorted. I never want to read of anyone having unsolvable problems.

I bet it's awesome ?

Fortis - Not me I am afraid not been to Anglesey yet, but I do know the group that went with the sector 7 jag.
