FRONT CHASSIS TO BODY BOLTS

Last question for the week....maybe....  can' t find the two bolts fixing the body on the chassis at the front, the two near the suspension bolts on the inside. I know that I need to drill my new chassis once the body on but what size and thread are the original ones?   Thanks again for your help.

Hi Giorgio,

 

I checked the bolts that came off of my 79 Federal S2 and those bolts are M8 x 45mm with a 1.25 thread pitch and are rated at 8.8.  There is also a 32mm diameter washer which is 3mm thick as well as a smaller flat washer and the nyloc nut.  Hope this helps.

Giorgio has been asking me about the chassis bolts removed from my car. So far he has the following info:

2 M8 at the front chassis member (front boot)

2 M8/10 ? on each side of footwell

4 M8  on the chassis tunnel

Bulkhead?

3 M10 on the rear (engine bay bar)

don't know length and if they are 8.8 or 10.9 grade

 

Here are the bags of bolts I have:

 

 

 

 

 

If anyone can identify any of them I can start separating and cataloging and will post up new pics with specs.

same as mine but with the difference that I have 3 fixing point in the rear boot.

Grade 8.8, partial thread bolts.

The top ones in this pic are I believe the four bolts (a pair behind each seat) that go through the rear bulkhead to the chassis brackets.

M8 x 60mm. Washers are 1 1/4" OD, 1/8" thick.
