Bouncing Speedo?

Sat on the drive this evening, about to switch off and the speedo started wandering of it own accord. As you can see in the clip I have a very steady tickover but the speedo seems to have a mind of its own. Obviously its an electrical gremlin - anyone have any ideas and a quick fix or will it remain a mystery?

I have that but the other way round. On the motorway the speedo occasionally just drops out to zero. Thinks about it for a few minutes. Bounces around for a while then works again. Very silly. It's a '96 job though, not a VDO like yours.

Maybe just needs to be reset with the correct pulse/km or mile input.  I know my digital vdo had to be set to 4000 pulses per km.
