19/20 tyre pressures

Recommended Posts

My first day of ownership & I have my first question already...

What should the (cold) pressures be for the 19/20 inch wheels?  I've had a look in the manual, which makes reference to the 18s/19s only; I've had a look around the car for one of those helpful stickers like I have in my other cars (apart from the Elise, that is), & I've had a look around the internet (where there's a lot of discussion about TPMS).  I can't find this anywhere.

I'm running 38 all round which seems fine and is mid way between the extremes suggested in the manual. The Evora seems to be a lot less sensitive to tyre pressures than the Elise where fronts need to be run very soft to get any front end bight..

PS good choice of car !

Thanks.  I'm hoping someone will point out some figures from Lotus, that I couldn't find.  I'll have a play around as I get to know the car.  I'll start by seeing what the dealer has put in there before I head out tomorrow.  I should think when I've worked out what I like, I'm going to end up with the front 2-3 psi lower than the rear.

I recall 2.4 bars in the front and 2.6 in the rear. Which seems to be 35 psi front, 38 psi rear. I don't have access to the manual now, but it is at the end of the manual on the my12.

Correct , as per the manual

Better run slightly high rather than low. Low pressure tend to exacerbate any tram lining in my experience.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.
