169. Lotus Carlton Europa S

Well, somebody has to bring one, and those Lotus Carltons are like buses - you wait ages to see one and then ten will come along at once!

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to report that  101.Evora Launch Edition will not be making an appearance, due to technical issues :-/   Apologies for screwing up the numbering!

I'll still be attending, doubling up with (and sharing the driving with? ;-) ) Garyvx220 with his Supercharged VX220 2.2.

Thanks

Not a good start to the weekend. Firstly Sat Nav says GPS switched off, can't find how to switch it back on. Good job I have TomTom as backup.

Now lost pressure in rear near side tyre and tyre weld won't do the trick as tyre worn through on inside edge. Now waiting on AA on over bridge on M74 near Gretna. Hopefully They can source a tyre and I can make it south today or tomorrow.

Well that was an eventful day. Arrived 9:00pm at Brooklands Hotel 13hours after leaving home.

AA man arrived about an hour after my phone call and said he had sourced a tyre in Carlisle. Computer said they had 4 in stock but given the size of the rear tyres 275/30 R20  I was sceptical. They only had one tyre but it was 10 years old £40. Decided to have it to get on the road. I know it's old but at least I was able to get here this evening and have more time to source 2 new rears.

Thanks @Bibs for the offer to phone round for me to source tyres locally and also thanks to Ian at David Hayton Lotus dealer in Carlisle for his help too.

Now relaxing with a large Bacardi & Coke or maybe two before hitting the sack. ??

Try Fullers Tyres here:-

http://www.fullertyres.co.uk/

they are near to Brooklands and will come out to you to fit on site. I had them change all four tyres recently at Brooklands Museum and they were very good.
