Ventilation stuck on Heating

Hi Guys;

A funny thing has happened to my 04 Exige, the air coming out of the vents is always warm, even in cold weather, making me suspect that the air is flowing through the heating core regardless of the knob's position (the knob turns freely).

Has anyone come across this issue before or have any ideas where I should look to try diagnose the issue?

sounds like your heater actuator is faulting and not allowing the flap to close, hense the bleeding warm air in the car.http://www.deroure.com/diagrams.asp?TBL=5992&MAK=1&MDL=12&SMA=0&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0 no 2 is the actuator and 4 is the shield.

unfortunately the front clamshell and other items need to removed to change the actuator(also fit the water shield if you havent already got one fitted).

Have you had a recall letter for your oil coolers to be replaced.??.. as this will help keep the costs down if replaced at the same time.(as the front clamshell is removed during this recall)..

also whilst the front clamshell is removed there are other items i would also recommend replacing if funds allow..

Modified blower resistor kit, 

radiator and fans=coolant change(if not already replaced)

a.c condensor and pipes

replacement towing post and braided brake lines(if not already fitted)

Yes, that sounds like it could be the issue. Luckily my front clam is a quick release one, so I can pop it off in a few mins. I've already changed the rad to an upgraded Pro-alloy one, replaced the ac condensor and towing post so will get to work ordering the other parts.

yes those are the required parts.

as your car has a.c you will need to de-gas and re-fill the system 550g after removing both the heater box and blower motor .

As the modified blower resistor lives in a new place inside the heater box with the modified part, and not underneath the blower.

You should recieve fitting instructions with the resistor kit, if you don't let me know and i'll send you the required info.

I've started to follow the process in the wiki, however my car seems to have much more stuff going on under the clam than the one in the pics. 

Maybe that one is not an a/c car?

This is looking like I'm going to have to remove the rad, and some a/c hosing to get to the unit.
