Evora 400 rim options?

Does anyone know exactly what the factory options are for the 400’s rims? I’ve seen the brochure listed standard gloss black 10-spoke alloys fitted to most 400s, as well the Hexagon car (below) with the all-silver wheels (and the B&C JPS edition with the gold rims), but I’ve not seen any UK cars decked out like the white 400 below, which is for sale at Lotus Dubai.

This is the first pic I’ve seen of a production 400 with the rim colours matching the launch prototype. These rims look different to the silver rims on the Hexagon car.

Any ideas?

Have any UK market 400s been seen spec'd like this Dubai 400?

But remember one thing: don't lose your head to a woman that'll spend your bread: Lotus Turbo Esprit (89-11); Lotus Esprit GT3 (12-14): Lotus Evora S (14-17); Lotus Esprit V8 SE "UK Last 15" (18-23) Lotus Emira FE 400 (23-..)

As far as I am aware, the diamond cut option on the Dubai car won't be available to order due to warranty claims being higher than is commercially acceptable bearing in mind expected volumes - diamond cut wheels are more susceptible to damage and corrosion from stone chips.

The four wheel options that are available are the normal, or forged wheels, in either silver or black. The Hexagon car's wheels are the silver non-forged ones; you can tell as the spokes are uneven length.

if you want the Dubai car's wheels, they are identical to the black forged ones, which have then been diamond cut. So you can always order those and have them done after market. Obviously you would lose your warranty on the wheels. They do look spectacular though, in my opinion.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Greg. So the Lotus Cars website is missing some detail on the rim options as it doesn't seem to show the forged info (unless it's not displaying on my tablet)? I see in the 400 brochure that the forged wheels are only offered as a factory option in black (and not silver?).

The launch prototype had the forged diamond cuts so I presume Lotus intended to offer this as factory option originally? Or where they doing a "take a look at wot you could've 'ad..."?

No worries Jack.

I just checked and the forged wheels are on the website I just viewed. Not sure what is happening on yours - apologies.

Yes, the forged alloys were originally offered following the Geneva release. It was decided though before full production began that the option would be removed for the warranty point.

I have seen the diamond cut ones in person and they really are spectacular. Exceptionally classy in my opinion. We have the black forged wheels and it is likely that we will get them diamond cut at some point.

Greg,

found the options now.  I was clicking the options tab at the top before which didn't seem to do anything.

Saw the 400 prototype in the flesh last summer - wheels looked great. Want to to see the other silver wheels on a 400 for real now!

Rim options are Cast or Forged in Silver or Black. You can see pics of the different designs for cast and forged wheels in this post in my discussion about my new 400. If I rember right I downloaded the pics from lotuscars.com configurator.

I prefer the forged ones (but I got them for free in the final deal:devil:)
