Andy - Thanks I saw that one. But on the eBay listing it states the engine doesn't run......I think it may well be exactly the same as mine !!! If it ran - I would have been off in the van to get the Ecu today !!!!!

When I rang I spoke to a guy and he even asked someone else there if they do the v8 Ecu. It sounded like a bit of a discussion in the background before no was the answer

Speak to swindon Alan he is a blood hound for following information I can ask a few guys in the trade who does ecu repairs is it definitely a new one needed can your old one not be fixed .

Cheers Alex - the Ecu is out and off to a guru - hopefully he will sort it.

Alan came up the other day "massive thanks" to try and get the laptop working on her - but we could get no comms. 

Ive gotta do something I'm really shit at now - WAIT........

I did do some tests on the harness yesterday - and I'm sure the immobiliser is indeed doing what it should do.

Ring Bluestreak again this morning.

it would appear Neill Pye, apologies if that's the wrong spelling, has left the company and the knowledge seems to have gone with him?? That's a little alarming to say the least.

i have popped an email to lotus software support in the hope that they may be able to assist @bibs - can you have a little word please - it may be we have a real support issue going forwards with these lovely cars

Lotus won't be interested. This has been an issue for 5+ years now and they stopped building the cars 12 years ago. There are only 1,000 V8's so you can see for them there will be no business case to explore a solution.

i wouldn't expect lotus to be in any way interested in an old car - but it would be nice if we could get the technology to reprogram exige ecus - and or hook up the old dos based diagnostic stuff

Surely the ECU is off something else? The 4 pot ECU is GM and fairly available if you know where to look...providing you don't need the memcal that is! 

Very very long shot but Mike Sekinger ? Might be worth a shot but he might have one lying around.

I loaned him a 350 ecu a few years ago, never did bother to get it back so it might still be kicking around somewhere.

Yep will have a bash at that too Sparky. Is it also urgent (silly question probably!) 

Anybody got a really dead V8 ECM they could lend me? I would like to map out what is in one, even though it's irrelevant to a replacement TP jobbie. Ta
