Evora C service, how much?

I think I'm due a C service.

So what should I be paying, including Spark Plugs.

Had a quick scout around, a few indies have prices in their websites (Maidstone sports cars etc).

I'm kinda equidistant between Silverstone, Snows, Bell & Colvill, Hofmanns etc.

Current: 2021 Lotus Elise Cup 250 FE in Isotope Green, Red Alcantara Interior, Carbon Aero Kit, AirCon, Carpets & Mats, NVH pack, Cruise Control, Stereo, Red Calipers.

.Is that the big one? 5 years (my service book is in the car and the car is covered so not going to check)?

So what do those 4 say?

I paid £670 in January last year at GST including sorting some minor issues.

I've not phoned anyone yet :)

car is a Dec 2010 car and was last serviced by MMC when I bought it 31 March 2015. Hence thinking about it needing doing.

car is on 42k miles now.

Wow, £394 to £670 via £575 is a pretty big price range.

Mine's the red swan sister to your yellow ugly duckling Cocopops so in the same boat for my next service. Obviously keen to find out the going rate....

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

You must be out of sequence somehow. Your car is about the same age and mileage as mine. The bigger one with trans fluid should have been last year.

B&C were quoting about £800 when I last asked them (some time ago and I had heard comment that they have reduced prices) but I use Back on Track, which was c£600 last year.

Year 5 service a bit under £400.

Spark plugs not due until 54k.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

My car a year younger June 2012 car, and I'm reliably informed that the C service is at the 4 year point.

I'm massively interested in the variance on the interval here - maybe someone with more knowledge (calling all anoraks) can comment...

I'm in getting an MOT Thursday this week and discussing what needs doing for the C Service, as a bunch of stuff was done prior to purchasing the car on behalf of the original purchaser who's - sadly for him, great for me - purchase fell through.

I'll let you all know what the outcome of this conversation is - dealer is Westover.

Mine had the 4 year service which inc all fluids etc but not plugs and that was £416 + VAT just under £500 inc VAT from Dick Lovett (main dealer at the time).

The plugs from Lotus are just under £200 for parts and between half an hour to an hour to fit. Some dealers are fitting free as part of major service. The plugs can be bought from Toyota main dealer for £94 inc VAT if you are taking to an independent.

So this will explain the differences between the prices, it's the cost of the plugs.

Does this help?  Thanks to Lotus Silverstone for putting this on their website:

The Lotus Evora requires a regular service to be carried out either once a year or every 9,000 miles (whichever occurs sooner). Additional items are then required based upon the age and mileage of the Lotus.

During a regular service, Lotus Silverstone will spend close to 3 hours not just replacing components of the lubrication system but we also inspect critical components of your high performance sports car.

Additional items are due at the following intervals:

2 years / 18,000 miles - Pollen filter, clutch / brake fluid

4 years / 36,000 miles - Transmission oil manual and IPS, air filter, coolant

6 years / 54,000 miles - Spark plugs

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

Just in case anyone has not realised. The full details of what/when are on pages 10-12 of the little maintenance record book in the owners pack. The garage should complete details of extra operations in there as well.

Silverstone (top notch service as always ) were approx £660 for the Plug service (inc pollen filter and brake/clutch flud) + MOT on mine, BOT quoted about £470 for the same but I wanted to keep the FLSH

If im understanding correctly the Evora does seem to have 2 larger than normal services one for trans oil and the year after the plugs, im looking forward to a couple of cheap years now!

Changing the plugs + service in mine at almost bang on the recommended time/mileage has made a huge difference to the car, it feels like new!

My 4 year service was eye wateringly expensive at Paul Mattys. £350 just for the transmission oil for the IPS (or nearly £50 per litre)

:o that is outrageous!

The owner before me had that service done all in at a cost of £433!

Is it made and aged by Macallan alongside their whisky. Similar cost per litre I think.

Just be thankful they didn't price-match this stuff then : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Macallan-Anniversary-Malt-1928-year/dp/B00MZF1R1O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455720242&sr=8-1&keywords=macallan+1928+whisky

Plugs can be diy, no?

Apparently not that difficult if you are remotely handy with cars which I am not, although having said that I did manage it on an MGF many moons ago :D

Just didnt want to risk breaking my Evora!

Booked in with Silverstone, they are going to email a quote.

21/22 March, 2 day for change of transmission fluid.

Seems odd that's it not been done... It was "serviced" by Murray's before I bought it and it was due a pollen filter and transmission fluid but it appears they've done neither?! They serviced at 38k (4yrs), and according to service records transmission fluid due at 36k (or 4yrs) and it hadn't been done previously. Very odd.

So plugs don't need doing yet, so that's good.
