As far as I know the Castrol Valvemaster Plus is an additive that adds protection to the valves and the valveseats on cars needing leaded fuel, when it's not available and raises the octane apprx. "1".

Now, some engines have stainless valveseats and should in theory be able to cope with modern petrol, without the added protection. SOme just don't do without it.

Is it for your x180? Shouldn't that be unleaded only, therefore NOT having to add anything?

I only only only run Shell 99 or 100 or101 or 102 octane. Nothing else added.

On my old Laverda motorcycle, I add a Little bit of Castrol Valvemaster Plus every time I refuel. Same petrol btw.

Just my 2p on the matter,

Jacques.

Nobody does it better - than Lotus ;)
