Cypriot
this is general question to anyone that owns a car with louvers on the tailgate: when you wash your cars, don't you get the engine bay all dirty as well? I am genuinely intrigued!
Trevsked
Well it gets wet but once you've dried the car off just a matter of wiping a cloth over the engine bay. Trevor. 1 Quote I'll get around to it at some point.

Gadzooks
I've not noticed this as a problem - but then again I don't normally clean the engine bay. Only 'problem' I have with the louvres is that at night it makes traffic behind you appear to be flashing their lights which keeps catching your eye in the mirror.. I am genuinely intrigued! Even without louvres, after I pressure wash the car, water droplets find their way onto the rear window (between the passenger compartment and engine bay.) Gotta reach in there with a microfibre as the last step of cleaning Quote 2016 Evora 400 | Signature Silver on Red Alcantara
Colin P
Yep. And when you open the boot the vent below the rear window drips all over the supercharger Oh life really isn't worth living. Must sell up. Quote Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable. Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone. Popular Post Gadzooks
Took the 410 on track today at Castle Combe - epic. I was worried about passing the noise test but at 4500 rpm it was registered as 104 db. Amazing performance. I also drove a Ferrari 458 Speciale (not quite as hard as my own car) on the same track and it was only 1 sec per quicker per lap than the 410.
M4rk
I was at @Stratton Motor Company today to collect my Exige after some warranty work and took a moment to admire their new arrival being a very nice 410 in black with yellow highlights in the cabin. The Evora is a really stunning car and their 410 looked very nice - @JayEmm maybe another video opportunity? I really like the look of the Evora, the carbon work Lotus have got on these cars is top draw! A 410 would not be out of place parked up at Casino Square, it easily competes and the best thing is you don't have to pay the price of an average house to get that supercar feel. I've yet to hear one roar in the flesh but I know I'll love it! I keep finding myself wondering if it would be a good daily. I resisted the urge to sit inside the cockpit as I fear I may be catching the "Evora virus" which I've heard can be expensive and difficult to cure!
Gold FFM JayEmm Posted May 26, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted May 26, 2017 @M4rk I have already shot a 410 video, I just haven't released it yet. I've never tried a 360 Cup though... M4rk
@JayEmm cool, I will keep an eye out for it. We can make that happen, it would be good to see your 400 too. I'll be down at Hanger 111 next Wednesday.

Only 1 sec... Tell us more about how it behaves on track pls!! I presume yours is manual? So a 410 BHP against a 600 BHP Double Clutch V8!! I'd love to see track time analysis on the 410 around Silverstone and Spa now. If you can really get that level of performance out of it then it goes like it looks!! Is what I hoped it would be and I need to go sell my kidney for one!! Castle Combe tight and twisty?
NW76
Sorry, a 458 Speciale well driven (pro) can do a 2:41 in Spa ... dont think you can get below 2:45 in a street 410 ...
rallyesax
Keep in mind the tires differences as well The 410 is on PScup2. Was the Ferrari on PSS or semi slicks ? 410 goes about 3s faster around hethel track than the 400. Remember that 1,5 to 2 is only due to the tires Edited May 27, 2017 by rallyesax
auRouge
@NW76 - Sounds more like it, so after a few laps Speciale is out of sight round the next corner! @rallyesax The Speciale uses MPSC2's

chylld
On the track, a driver's ability at a given speed level, familiarity with the car and willingness to push are far more important than any horsepower / tyre comparison. Case in point from 3 days ago: 1 Quote 2016 Evora 400 | Signature Silver on Red Alcantara
Gold FFM C8RKH Posted May 27, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted May 27, 2017 The porkers raw power is impressive on the straights. Would frustrate me hugely on track the way you close up under breaking and on the twisties just to see him roar away on the straights. But then you could have the Evora 400 AND an Exige 350/380 Sport for the price of the 911 Turbo. I know what I'd rather have. . 1 Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way. I was 1.22 per lap in the 410 and 1.21 in the 458. Same driver same conditions. Later when I followed the Ferrari I was taking slightly better lines and made up time in the corners but he pulled away on the straights. The 458 was on Cup2s ( I'm pretty sure) as was the 410. His extra power plus the awesome double clutch box made the key difference. I didn't think he had any advantage in the braking zones. Also had some fun with a Nobel M12 that was pushing 510hp. In the end the better chassis (he said that he wasn't happy with his set up and given that he is a race driver I believe him) and better brakes of the 410 won out. I couldn't catch a GT4 but an ex Ginetta championship driver was behind the wheel so I put that down to driver rather than car. Similarly I overtook a GT3 RS but I can't believe that the driver was really pushing it! Key points that I like about the 410. Excellent brakes and they never faded despite some serious abuse. Great chassis. Initial turn in is brilliant and when you trail brake into a corner you can feel the back axle moving out to help you through the corner. Weak point is probably the engine as you could easily use another 50hp. I was never brave enough to turn all the stability controls off - it stayed in race mode for the day. Oh and it could do with a harness - the seats don't give enough shoulder support. Despite being on track with some seriously expensive kit the 410 never felt outclassed (I apologise in advance to all those people who are going to fall out with their partners because they now need a 410 in their lives)

Gadzooks
Caste Combe is a fast circuit they added a couple of chicanes to slow thing down a few years ago but still quick - 3rd or 4th gear (no 2nd gear corner) Manual yes. I tried the IPS/auto on track before and it isn't fun. Way too slow for track IMHO
auRouge
That's the car, manual makes it the real deal in that package. No faffing just clear and precise. About 4 years ago I described my perfect Evora. I think I alluded to them calling it the R or something. The 410 Sport is exactly it... A Lighter, 400+bhp Evora with bits of Carbon Fibre and Alcantara to make it feel special and purposeful...
