no fuel at carbs

Help please no fuel getting to carbs .tank is half full and pump is working well when I disconnect its output pipe and catch fuel in a jam jar .is there a line filter between the pump outlet and the carbs and if so does anyone know what type it is .This is the only thing I can think of

Hi there is possibly a fuel cut of valve on the chassis around the area of the gearbox, I had this problem many years ago when it failed, it seems to fail in the shut off position or it could be as mine was a poor earth where it earths to the chassis through its fixings

thanks is this solenoid actually needed or can it be bypassed

The tank will syphon out into the street if parked on a hill without it.

^ on a downhill.....

park it on the flat or an uphill and it will be okay - hard to remember not to park downhill however.

Thanks Dunc further inspection showed a poor electrical connection to the valve all is good now
