Suprised the V6 part is different to the S2, but yes Deroure shows the standard silver ones as different P/Ns from S2>V6.

I had previously assumed the S2 black surrounds on the market would have fitted.

on my V6 brought from the Elise shop which is an S2 surround had one on my previous S2 did not realise they are different?

Had B&C fit it from new they never

said they had a problem fitting it

also fitted the black screws which are a must in my opinion got these

from pro-bolt

Eliseparts also told me they were unsure of the s2/s3 compatibility because of different part numbers.

If it were suitable though, I thought maybe the silver bolts would look good against the black surround.

Just now, Matthew Haskins said:

I have 6 of the genuine Lotus black filler caps along with the black stainless steel screws here on the shelf for £60 inc VAT (including the screws)

Caps or surrounds Matthew? (Def fit the V6?)

If the surround, I'll have one off you. (With the screws)

Cheers

The filler surrounds, we've fitted 4 to V6 Exige already - we've also got a good company for doing the struts black on the spoiler to match

I'm here until 5, give me a call on 01327 320242

Cheers

I bought the black filler surround from Elise parts and it never fitted ended up rounding off the alan bolts and had to cut it off. Rather scary getting my dremel out and cutting millimetres away from my nice new paint and lots of heat right next to my fuel tank.

I ended up getting my original one colour coded and refitted that. I also found it makes the job much easier if you reach inside the neck and pull the tank up into position and hold it there as you tighten the bolts. when the bolts are out mine was on a bit of an angle and the Lotus bolts are made of cheese.

Having now had the car out in daylight, it seems the fuel cap is somewhat faded compared to the new surround...

Can I buy a new cap and put my lock barrel in it?

Matt, assuming you've not sold them all, please can you put one by for me for the 1st April when my car comes in for the soft top conversion?

Digging up this old thread as I am also looking for a black fuel cap surround. Has anyone fitted the one from Eliseparts? It's for an S3 Exige. Thanks.

I fitted this one to my S3 Exige:

The surround fitted perfect, but the supplied bolts were WAY too short, so I just used the original bolts with it. It looks soooo much better with the black surround 👍
