Recommended Posts

Hi TLF

My door glass is lying in the door after stripping it out today I noticed the glass has came out off the regulator, how should the window be fixed to the metal holder

Cheers Paul

I have always found that the door glass sits in a C channel that is attached to the regulator. The channel usually has a rubber moulding in it to grip the glass. Is your C channel still there? Has the rbber detonated to let the glass go?

Hi ramjet

Thanks for you reply yes the C channel is there and in nice condition yeah the rubber has seen better days and there's loads of old glue in the channel. Can you still get the rubber or is there another option ie mastic

Cheers Paul

Sorry, but I can't help you on the rubber availability. Some of the spare parts places in the UK may be worth asking. I suppose mastic is an option, but then you run into the problem of removing it later if you need to. I would think that there would be many cars that use a similar type of rubber section as the cars were sourced from various parts bins for things like this.
