I also had a great time on Sunday and much enjoyed the lap if not the 11am to 12:45 wait to get on track.  Some good close racing, and some excellent eye candy to amuse between races.  The access to the cars and racers in the pit area was the best I've ever known with virtually no restrictions - similar to an ordinary track day.  Will deffo go again.

Some great photos, thanks for sharing.  Did anyone notice how many Porsche 911s there were there?  I've never seen so many, literally field after field of the things.

I spoke to an authorative figure there who told me that 99% of the 911 is interchangeable the the Beetle.  Now there's some useful information.

Dead right Mark.  This was just one of the 4 huge parking sites for Porsche

And there were small enclaves of even faster ones elsewhere

I'd rather have any of them than a beetle!

...and that's why you never pay any attention to Porches that you see out on the road, as there are so many of them. BOOOOOORING. My personal opinion is that they are bought by people who want "an expensive sports car" but don't have the faintest clue what that means.

FOOTNOTE

On a similar point. The Club Lotus stand was next door to the MX-5 Owners Club. Here's a photo of the hordes of the public flocking to theirs:

Sorry to have to pull you up Alan, but I think you'll find it's "Massivus Bellendus".

That's OK, don't thank me.

You are being totally unfair guys.

I rented a really nice 911 when I was in Monaco last year and loads of people were taking pictures of it outside the Mone-Carlo Casino.

Great day out and terrific fun doing the parade lap. Not much fun having the engine running for 10 minutes waiting for the marshals to let us on the track after telling us to get ready though. Temperature gauge was getting very high!
