Fuel hose size

Does anyone know the internal diameter of the fuel hose? I'm sure mine is way overdue for replacement. I have the SJ braided Y setup and seeing as I have all the connectors, thought I could just order a length of braided hose and remake my own.

Not near to the car right now.

Hi Pete,

My fuel hose is also from SJ and he gets the parts from Speedflow in Bristol.  I had to adjust mine as it was fouling on the engine cover.  Pretty sure its the 100 series range but I can check when I get home - I have an offcut of hose kicking around somewhere so can measure the inside too..

That would be cool mate! I'd need to take mine off to measure it which I don't want to do now I've just got her back on the road and it's not pissing with rain!

by happy coincidence, mine happens to be hanging in the shed...

run from tank to pump to rollover solenoid thingy is a fraction over 9mm ID, while the run from there to the carbs is just over 6mm. Possibly the imperial closest equivalent, although.neither is as much as 1/2mm over the measured dims here

Hi Pete, sorry I have not forgotten about this - I was sure I had an old offcut of hose but have not been able to find it.  Had a look in the shed at the weekend too.

What I have done is dig out the invoice for it.  As I said Steve uses (or certainly used to use) Speedflow and the hose is their 100 series 06 size hose.

Sizes from their website:

Inside diamater - .34" or 8.64mm

Outside diameter - 0.55" or 13.98mm 

If you do go to Speedflow they are very helpful and will fit all the end for you FOC.

This is the carbs to fuel filter hose, the tanks to pump I am sure is larger (and I do have my old hose if this is what you need).

That's spot on Neil, thanks. 06 it is. I was going to reuse all the fittings from the old hose so will do it myself as and when. Currently stripping the dash and trying to fix a broken speedo and choke lever.

Which carbs do you guys have? Can't figure out why they'd go for smaller diameter feed on the bigger engine....

And likewise, Neil, I'm hopefully going to finish this year what I started in 1999??

Dellorto DHLA 35's.  I think the S2 carbs were different (might be thinking about the turbo though).

Mine is only brake refurb to finish rather than the whole car!

Neil means 45s not 35s.

Will check recommended replacement size with SJ in case mine had been previously replaced, but they didn't look it!
