Daniel stated something along these lines, "if you drive it carefully you should be able to get 20.000 km without a rebuild. However, the rebuild apparently doesn't require a gearbox out repair.

They are also working on a dual clutch gearbox (from Audi), that should be ready next winter.

Dual clutch gearbox would be the ticket for a car that sees both track and road use.

You can see from that video why a true sequential gearbox is not well suited for typical road usage, IMHO.
