punky 161
Thanks for the support guys. Here's a couple of pics I took a few weeks back with my phone, so the quality's not so good but will give you an idea. This one shows the saab alternator fitted. The brackets are a little larger than I would like but I was going for strength rather than asthetics. If you look in the background you can see the backbox hanging on the brackets. To save a bit of money I decided to go with the red I had and I've kind of got use to it a bit now .It does look quite nice with the new shiny cap heads and washers especialy once I have replaced the ones around the cam covers as well. M Blur 1
with the inlets coded it does bear a good resemblance for a 3.5 v8.. if you slrt of squint.. imo this is the prettier engine. I always felt the cover of the 3.5 was a bit squared off, a bit yank generic looking. Quote It's alive.. alive!!!..
USAndretti42 308
That looks really good, Andy. I agree that the red manifold makes it look like a V8 which is no bad thing. Keep up the good work. wiseraven 0
Come on Punky, where are the updates? Are you saving them up for the big "ta da" moment, or do you just like keeping us in suspense? I'll be at Simon's for the weekend with Alex & Big Si, so unless you report for BBQ duty, we'll more than likely be paying you a visit just to make sure you've not been slacking. silverfrost 1,387
Love that look! is that carbon fibre, and the esprit badge looks the nuts you have some great detailing in there punky keep it up! regards danny Quote A
hilly 1
Now they are some very nice arty shots of your engine there Punky. The crinkly finish does look a lot more OEM than the gloss you had before, I personally think it looks mighty fine, not sure how easy it will be to keep clean mind. As for the spark plug covers, very nice I am still trying to figure out from your photos if you have had some new ones made or added a finish to the old ones ?????? So come on then, more photos and details as you have got a fair bit more done since your last posts, I spy inlet tubing, throttle cable, 2 radiator header tanks (???) and other stuff. nigel cowell 0
Good to see it all coming together. I see you have sorted the root for the air intake out , it gave me sleepless nights . That carbon looks grate , tell me more ! as i have been thinking about the same thing. I now you will bare all when you are ready but i am intrigued to now about the engine management. Have been up to my neck with jobs at home lately eg, new conservatory and more importantly garage/workshop extension so haven't touched the cars lately let alone tidy the esprit engine bay up, so looking at yours i am a little em-barest. With an engine as good to look at as that you need the glass tailgate cover so it can be ogled at when you or anybody else walks by. keep it up Nigel
punky 161
Ok due to popular demand I can put it off no longer First clutch stuff I had the centre of the flywheel opened out for the new spigot bearing to accept the un1 clutch shaft Here Quote http://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/topic/8126-30-v6-conversion/

hilly 1
Thats more like it Punky, bloody fantastic progress you have made on the quiet. You did the right thing getting the Innovate WB unit, tuning up the map on MS is a nightmare without it. Looking very good, top job, I had better get my finger out to try and keep up........
