Coolant through-chassis pipes

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the following (relaterd) information about the four through-chassis pipes used for connecting the charge cooler and heater on the Esprit S4?

I'm replacing the hoses in the engine bay with silicone ones. Having checked the parts / service manual I'm not sure if my car has been changed some time in the past and whether there is good reason to connect the hoses in the way they came off. So.

1. Can anyone tell me what the order is, left-to-right (or right-to-left!) for the hoses, eg to heater, return from heater, to c/c rad, return from c/c rad ?

2. Logically, I would expect the flow to be "in" at the bottom of the rad or heater matrix and "out" (return) from the top so that when filling in will expel air back via the return hose. From what I can see and confirmed by the parts manual where it's possible to tell, the connections would appear to be the other way around.

If anyone has done this (ian29gte / Ian Lord ?) could you let me know please ?
