James Bond submarine Esprit

I was talking to a lady yesterday who told me her father is a boat designer/engineer and he was on the team that built the 'submarine' Esprit for The Spy Who Loved Me.  I don't have any more details right now, but if I find out more I will try to follow up.  I just thought that was a cool thing and felt it was worth a post :-)

Nice. That Esprit and the Turbo Esprit games for C64 and Amiga were my first contact with the LOTUS brand. I didnt stop untill i got my Lotus Esprit.

Ok. I know I am rebumping an old post but I thought I would add it in here. Interestingly, there is a link to a Tesla reference above.

Musk actually placed the Esprit in the Tesla design studio, to provide inspiration to his designers. They would have been finalising the Model 3 about then. I guess the designers took no mind of the Esprit 😆
