ESPRIT S4 – FULL SERVICE HISTORY, BEST COLOURS!

Presented in outstanding original condition, in the best colour combination of Calypso Red with a Raven leather interior. I’ve actually sold this car to three of its’ five owners so it’s a car that I know well.

The Esprit S4 was a giant leap forward in the development cycle of the model. Using the venerable 2.2 litre Lotus engine with a turbo charger and a charge cooler, producing 264bhp, the S4 was the first Esprit to feature power steering, the interior was enlarged to accommodate taller drivers and the doors opened wider, allowing easier ingress and egress.

The options list on the S4 was relatively short as most essential items, such as full leather and air conditioning, were included. This particular example has the preferred body coloured tilt/lift out sunroof. It has a later specification Kenwood flip-front radio with a 6-disc CD player. The original wind deflector and sunroof stowage bag are still present, as is the original tool set, jack and wheel brace.

All paintwork is original and in great condition with no sign of fading. There are, inevitably some stone chips to the front but they are not yet requiring major attention. The leather and carpets are in good condition with just a little wear on the seat bolster, in keeping with the age and mileage.

For the past thirteen years the car has been owned by a recently retired employee of the Mercedes F1 team and he has used his outstanding mechanical understanding to bestow upon the vehicle all of the care required to keep it in a tip top condition. For the larger mechanical jobs, including cambelt changes, the car has been entrusted to marque expert Gerald Turner in Newmarket, Suffolk.

Every single MOT certificate is present, showing steady use throughout the cars life. Bills and receipts since the car was almost new are also present in a large folder. The original owners pack and both keys are, of course, there too. The vehicle has the benefit of a Toad immobiliser in full working condition.

In conclusion, the car has led a charmed life. I have the benefit of knowing the last four of its’ five owners all of whom are multiple Lotus owners. The car is presented in an outstanding condition and is absolutely ready to enjoy.

Never been that keen on some of the  spoilers on some of the later cars, but the mid spoiler really suits them IMO, nice looking car

Gorgeous, the Esprit never looked better than the S4 IMHO.
