Appreciation!?

Today, I was at my trusted car wash place with my 2011 Lotus Elise SC (hand wash, paste wax at very reasonable price) and I was offered $100,000 for my Elise. A serious offer. I turned it down because I genuinely love the car, I can't think of what I would buy if I sold it, and I assume the value will continue to increase (assuming I don't wreck it). So there you go. I have the "Certificate of Provenance" from Lotus UK which is handy to confirm just how special these cars are.

Anyone else see such a wonderful trend?

Elise S1 prices in the UK are heading north, albeit slowly. Not sure I'd have turned down an offer of $100k, you should have taken it and used the money to buy 2 more!

Can't buy 2 more 2011 Elise SC's....  According to the Certificate of Provenance, there were 37 sold in the US and the green/black is one-of-a-kind.  With the limited slip differential, sport pack, touring pack, 220hp stock, there's really nothing else out there like it.  And all the sales sites for Lotus cars for the US don't have 2011's.  They are just too rare.  You may recall that in 2011 Lotus redesigned the car and then lost its exemption in the US, meaning that was it.  I have yet to see one like it being offered for sale in the US.  But I understand that I turned down a generous offer.  I love the car too much to sell it.  I am hoping it continues to appreciate.
