Fat earth to the battery

Since cutting my body up I now have two main power cables. Since the dash stuff appears the be earthed to the steering colum which, I guess, then earths to the chassis and back to the battery via that route, is there any sense in putting a fat earth cable from the battery directly to the steering column through the call alongside the main power route?

I think for a lot of cars, earthing kits can be just a bit of bling bling and aren't necessary. For ours though, and especially if you're still using older wiring, extra earth cables certainly won't do any harm.

Never make short cuts with earth's on these cars. You will suffer for sure at a later date if you do.

I cannot remember taking the earth lead from the battery, where should it bolt to the chsssis, I can only think it was one of the bolts holding the body to the rear shock mounts?

Thats exactly correct however with a spare cable I will plumb in another earth to the steering column for the dash earths

Sounds sensible and I suspect it could be run parallel to the power cable on the inside of the side sill.

I will have to make additional entry and exit holes but all will be well
