I think I would have gone for that if I didn't already have mine. Did you buy it as the listing has ended?

There's a black one as well that would match the other two :)

I haven't bought still chatting with the guy, it looks good but price is a bit optimistic and it also needs belts doing, does anyone know main dealer price for this?

I saw the black ones and do like the jps one but this one is more likely if the guy will be sensible :)

It's not really a JPS one though and isn't an SE - although it is the right colour for me :)

This one is, and has Air con, which mine is lacking and I want to install. Prefer my two tone 1/2 leather, as the all red is a bit over powering for me.

Definitely needs the belts doing as a matter of priority as it's only driven 320 miles since 2007. Mine was similar with very few miles over the previous 15 years. I had it trailered to Gerald and he said that the belts could have gone at any time. He performed a full service on it so that we had a base line to start from.

Thanks Chris appreciate your expertise! This was the jps I was talking about is it not a real jps?

Look at this on eBay
1979 V Lotus Eclat 2.0 John Player Special Edition Colours .Very Rare

In terms of the belts is it a big job on these or are they easily accessed just wondered how much one should factor in for them.  Just had the c service done at B&C on the esprit came out at 1900£. Saw the mileage increments looks like it's only been used going to and from the mot gge.

Never made a jps in that model.a true jps has black and white interior I think

Oh, I was looking at the white "JPS" Excel - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1985-LOTUS-EXCEL-IN-MONACO-WHITE-BLUE-HALF-LEATHER-PRICE-5995-/262396740456?hash=item3d18108368:g:YxQAAOSwiYFXF5UG (see last picture)

I wasn't thinking of Eclats, but I do remember this one from a previous thread as it was looking fine until the picture of the dashboard and gear stick! I think it is a car in black and gold car rather than a JPS éclat - check this thread

There were a few black Elites dressed up with stickers at a number of races - see this thread

Belts are much more easily accessed in these than in the Esprit, but I'd still budget for a 2k annual expenditure once you have the car sorted.
