LF1 for sale at westover

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm interested in buying an Exige V6 - particularly an LF1 if I can find a good one.

I noticed one for sale at Westover sports cars but believe it to have been for sale for nearly a year. Does anyone know this car? Why would it be for sale for so long without selling?

I have noticed that the second hand market for these seems to move quite slowly but I would have thought a year to be a long time even for a niche car.

It would be great to hear your thoughts.

Welcome to TLF Michael. :welcome: (great name by the way)

It might still be for sale due to the reason you say of it being a niche car. An LF1 won't suit everyone.

You should duck over to the Introductions area and say hi in there as well.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

Welcome to TLF.

I'm pretty sure that that car was sold previously and hasn't been there for a year.

Give Chris a call down there, he's a really decent chap and will happily talk you through the ownership history.

It looks stunning, and if I was running my Lotus as a second car would have been high on my list.

Hi and welcome. There is history on every LF1 we know of on the register:

I don't believe that one has been for sale over a year. A couple have come up and sold twice. It's not because of issues - people I have spoken to have bought and situations changed (move abroad/not driving, etc).

They are all still under manufacturer warranty for at least another year so at their current prices you are in for an absolute bargain.

Let me know if you have any questions about them?

Indeed, I'm pretty sure that would be the car owned by @TheDeadPrussian, who originally bought it from Westover and sold it back to them after getting offered a Cayman GT4 (long-time Porsche owner before coming over to the LF1)

If it is then it is a beauty - he really looked after it and hardly drove it. I believe it had a very expensive paint protection job before being driven:

I am not sure how up to date that is - I expect it's had another owner since.

What a great car ... go and get it - the price is great ;-) ... the LF1 would have been my alternative ... but I was too slow... the only one currently on the market in Germany when I shopped was gone prior to me even having a chance to visit the dealer...

I looked at this car in January and also one from Williams.

The car has had two owners and the present owner is now in the USA. The bodywork is in excellent condition. The only blemish I can remember was a small chip on the rear spoiler. The interior is fine also. The main problem was with the drivers side sill, which is in leather. This was very badly scuffed and would need a professional repair to try and make good.

Some LF1's were supplied with the wrong steering wheel. The steering wheel on this car is the correct type after a replacement, and documentation was available showing this.

I like paperwork with my cars, and the invoices for the car when purchased new and for the service were available, but only with COPY written on them.

The V5 shows the car as being white, however the dealer has the proof that the car was registered black and told me this could be sorted.

The LF1 collectors pack is present and has the plastic model car USB rather than the metal race car USB. The omission of the metal USB race car in a number of collectors packs is well documented. I managed to purchase one on eBay after a month of looking.

I decided to purchase the Williams car, which was in a similar excellent condition (without the sill scuff), as it had a lower mileage and one previous owner and was only slightly more expensive.

As a final note the car is now cheaper than the price I was looking to pay.

Yes the car was owned by Mark (known as TheDeadPrussian) on here.  I met him at the Factory Tour last year.

Some pics of the car:

I know Mark had the car detailed prior to selling it,  I think he purchased a Cayman GT4.

Number 1 sold in Scotland a few weeks back, that came with the signature of Stirling Moss on the plaque.

Good luck in your quest in buying an LF1 and if you need any help just ask...

Good Morning All,

Thank you for your interest in LF1 #10, she is still available. I can confirm all of the above, we supplied the car to its first and second owner.

A replacement leather sill for the drivers side has now arrived after being on order for some time.

Should you require any further information please don't hesitate to private message me or give myself (Alex), Chris or Ben a call on 01202 677511.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex, welcome to the forum. How about popping over to introductions and saying hi?

I've been promoting the car for sale on the register homepage, would you mind having a look and letting me know what details can be updated please?
