I tend to flick the lights off before cleaning screen, otherwise the headlight washers just spray water all up the bonnet

When I went to see Craig Moncrieff (formerly of Murray Motors) about the lacquer on my headlights starting to peel, he said that one of the causes is thought to be if you have a high concentration of screenwash additive in the water, which could explain why the peeling started at the top edge of the light units as the water will gather there in the airflow. Since then, I've cut down on the mix and switch off the lights (if I remember) before I wash the screen.

See, they could have saved some weight and money - I also do everything I can not to wash the windscreen with the lights on. Have event thought about pulling the motor connection. Complete pain headlight washers.

2 minutes ago, Bibs said:

Washers are a legal requirements (as is self levelling) with xenon bulbs.

Really, My Merc and both our minis are newer than the Evora and none have headlights washers. Both Minis have Xenons.

My mistake. Sons does have washer - relatively new and I hadn't noticed them. Wifes definitely doesn't but I'm now wondering if they are not Xenons - they are HID and self level  (am I being a numpty and not understanding the difference):

All my cars are very shiny - it's why I can't tell whether they have headlight washers. B-)

:P  For the Mrs perhaps!

Her headlights are LED - but that still seems to come under the above rule :ermm:. I'm sure Mini know what they're doing.
