New 340R Owner With Questions

Hi:

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post technical questions. If I have it wrong please point me in the correct direction.

I just took delivery of my 340R. It's been a long time in coming. There are very few here in the USA. I totally overpaid.

I have some questions so I hope someone will respond to assist me.

A few questions to start (I'm sure there will be more)

Did any 340Rs come with a MPH speedo in place of the KPH? Was there ever a U.S. spec car? What is the best resource for parts and manuals?  I'd love some tire recommendations as the originals are 16 years old. Is it true the body shell must be removed to replace the battery? Thanks in advance!

Welcome, Sean.  Congratulations on your purchase!  The 340R is a great-looking car with all the benefits of Lotus performance and handling.  I would have thought UK-spec cars had a mph speedo.  I'm pretty sure it uses the instruments from the Series1 Elise.

i'm also pretty sure there was no US-spec version.   When I lived in the States, the few 340Rs I saw for sale were classed as being for off-road use only.

I don't know about the battery access, I'm afraid.
