Esprit S1 S2 guide to removing sills from body

This is what the body on my S2 looks like right now.

 

I want to have a go at removing the sills but am terrified of making a mess of it and damaging the freshly painted body.

Does anyone have a guide or some good tips on how to do this job?

I normally drill out all the rivets holding the sill on the top, botton and each end, be sure to find all the hidden ones each end of the door shut and under fuel tanks. Then under the car with a scraper and a hammer carefully debond the under side of the sill from the body then carefully do the ends. Next with a end sharpened steel 1 meter ruler tap it to the center across the bond line from each wheel arch. Don't let the ruler wander to the painted section as you will scratch it!
