Vipers
Hi guys, looks like my trickle charger has packed up as my battery has gone flat, how do you open the front access panel to get to the jump points? I think this may be a sign that I need to start using it more :-) Cheers. Vipers
Thanks Danny, I'll get it jumped later, hopefully the battery is recoverable. At least I know the Tracker works as they have rung several times to check the car is OK :-) Quote Specialists In Quality HiFi For the Home Plus the UK's Only Domestic Motorsport Simulator Showroom paul@hifilounge.co.uk - 01767 448121 / www.hifilounge.co.uk / www.iloungeracing.co.uk Please Follow My TLF Blog Here - http://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/blog/88-vipers-lotus-and-hifi-blog/
razad
Have the same problem. Tried to push the lever and something popped but the panel is not loose. What direction do you pull the panel?
LotusPilot
The panel release clicks “home” two clicks - so you may have only released by the first stage. The panel corners adjacent to the windscreen pillats also engage with a pin into rubber socket; gently pull each corner vertically upwards to release each side. You’ll likely find that, upon releasing the latch, that the panel will only spring by the first click - but will fully release after pulling the panel corners free of their respective sockets. When refitting,, aligh the pins with the corresponding rubber sockets and gently press downwards to engage - then firmly press the centre of the panel downwards at the latch; it should click down by two stops. If you only push down the the first click, the alarm system may not set (the associated pin-switch is just forward of the latch mechanism. In practice, this sounds far more complex than it is in reality...

Do Lotus actually provide the right charger for the lithium battery ? And I have heard the same, you should not try to start it, but send it for inspection .. My Cup didn't come with a Lithium battery since I live in Kuwait and they aren't shipping lithium batteries in the Exige to Middle Eastern countries, but according to the supplement manual which came with my car (you can get it here http://248am.com/files/380cuphandbook.pdf) the car does come with a charger. Yannie
Appreciate this is an old thread but just back from holidays and dealing with the same issue. Trickle charger connected but won't go past the SAVE stage 😬. Any thoughts? The voltage was ok when we first got back but took a sudden dive. Yannie
For anybody that comes across this in the future. I was connected by the front terminals but not well enough. Mechanic connected a power source (battery) to the front terminals which allowed me to unlock. Once connected to the oem plug in the boot it charged happily and I stopped crying.
