Speedo cable connector

Recommended Posts

I'm attempting to remove the instruments from my S3. The speed connector doesn't look like any I have seen before and I am  uncertain how to disconnect it. Can someone tell me how to remove it without damaging it please?

Thanks.

Upgrade today to remove Google ads and support TLF.

I've recently pulled my binnacle off and encountered the same problem. As far as I can remember it eventially came loose after much prying and tugging. What made it diffiuclt for me was that I couldn't pull the instrument cluster out enough to get decent access at it.

Thanks for the reply.

This morning I just decided to give it a yank and it came off without breaking or any swearing. My instrument mask is shot, so I started making a new one today. It will be very solid as the Aussie sun likes to warp them. I had to buy a tonne of material to get the right texture so if this works out I would be happy to offer replacements for others with S2 dashes.

That plastic thingy is a right bugger. I've had exactly the same experience..;and in the same way; it finally came off and I've no idea how!!! There are ilustrations and so forth on Google, it's a common fitment for speedo cables, but even then it seems to be something needing thaumaturgy....

You need to pinch the section that is not supported by the legs, that will release the lock.

I fiddled with mine too until I got it...:)
