2. Plan Bigsi!

Recommended Posts

Guys

As you know, Simon is very ill. He's making himself worse working on his car.

From an initial idea between myself and Kimbers, I'd like us, LEF, to be able to help. Kimbers has already amazingly arranged a VIP tour of the factory for Si and his family which is brilliant. Our favourite smurf and Esprit guru Troy has very kindly offered to go and 'fix his car' and in fact is now refusing payment for it as I said initially I'd like to be able to pay him for his time. Simon350s has offered a local garage at his home, accomodation and an extra pair of hands and Punky who is also local has offered to help where he can. I will head down there myself at some point too but I'm not sure what technical help I can offer bar tea making and general pointing at oily stuff!

Si needs a few bits for the car, and I'd like to be able to help get this completed and back on the road for him in tip top condition and running order with minimal effort on his part.

What I would like to to is to appeal to the members on here for small donations into a paypal account, accessed by myself, Kimbers and Troy to cover the cost of these parts and incidental expenses. We are asking for a small donation from anyone willing to part with a few pounds for a good cause. Whether you want to donate

Just to add to Bib's comments guys.

It's the sense of community on this website that REALLY makes us different from anyone else. It's the classic example of this community that I called up Bibs just after new year and said "You know what Bibs, we should get Bigsi sorted out and repair his car for him", to which Bibs replied " I had just had the same idea and was about to call you about it!".

I know Big Si was moved to tears after we all sent him get well messages and I spent a while on the phone to him after our friends at Lotus offered a VIP factory tour. The one problem is Si still won't leave his car alone and has knocked himself up again! So come on it's up to us to sort him out.

To the newish members on site. I don't know Bigsi anymore than I know most on here and have never actually met the guy, but I would do the same for anyone on here.

My donations been made. Anything will do and be appreciated guys. If all you can afford is

Good call guys.

Just let me know when and where and I'll get my sorry arse down there.

I can also offer a comfy couch if anybody needs it.

I've been given the ok from the guy who owns the engine hoist that I'm using as well,so I'll have to get it down there for engine out and again for the engine in but as I'm not far away from the action it shouldn't be a problem.

Help needed for donation link as well, If I click it, it opens outlook express which I don't use as I use an online account and if I paste the link into my paypal account to send money it tells me its an invalid address and wont let me continue. Am I having a blond moment?

I'm also pretty good at pointing at oily stuff, and can do staring into space as a speciality :D

If you c+p the address into your paypal 'payment' box it usually adds a couple of extra characters like < or > at either end. Get in there and manually remove them.

Sod the tea making Bibs...... Just point at the oily bits and fetch the beers n pizza!!!!!!

Then we can all go play on the swings in the park when were all done!!!!

Can we do shout outs for requests???

If were bringing the big boys car down to my place were gonna need a tralor wide enough to fit her on.....

ANYBODY????

Could we also contact a frendly specialist..... i.e. SW Lotus as they've also helped Simon out already and seem very friendly.... let them know our plans and see if they can do discount in return for advertising....????

Maybe worth a try???

Any parts direct from Lotus can be collected by myself from Stratstone Cardiff....

Do you spanner guys have a timescale in mind for stealing his car? I don't mind grabbing a trailer from the local hire place (I've done it before, y'know!) and trundling over to the 'valleys' but I'll need to know dates etc

I forsee some thread shifting/merging creating going on soon......:D

So long as any new topics stay in this area, it's all hidden from Si.

The reason for this, I hear you ask, is that I think Simon is a proud man, and if he knew of this, he wouldn't allow it but as we all know, he needs it!

Hey Bibs

As Graham asked....

When we looking at starting this off????

The old boy was on the blower earlier, prob after he finished talking to you, telling me he wanted to sell it cause he was getting well depressed with it all and its getting to much for him.....

Best we do it before he finds a buyer LOL

Haha, he said that to me too, but I think it's a touch of depression hitting home.

Troy is heading up there this weekend to assess what is needed. Once that's done and we get a timescale on parts, we'll have a better idea of the timing from there but the sooner the better :D

I am far to skint to offer any cash at the moment but I can certainly offer what I think is a competent pair of hands for a weekend if you feel it of any use.

Ok Troy has maybe done a little more but I'd like to think I'm not far behind.

The offer is there its upto you guys if you want it.

I've never met BigSi - was hoping to do that at Donny in March - but appreciate his posts and really don't envy him what he's going through. I've added some cash - let me know if you need more.
