If it has had a respray it could be any red at all not necessarily a lotus red even.

I would suggest going through the garage here and the owners pages on LEW to find a car that appears the colour you think it is.

Then contact the owner and ask for the paint code you could then have a test swatch sprayed up to check its the same before going for it.

My S1 is L05 Carnival Red, and it absolutely has a hint of orange to it -- very orange in certain light.

Somewhere on the web there is a big listing of nearly every Lotus paint code from the 1960s to the 2000s . . .
