No Esprit for me......yet, but you could all try to convince me ;) The nearest I've had is a pair of Elise's, great fun until I wrote one off :(

Anyway, Bibs guided me to the site, he's trying to find me a job at the moment, and doing a good job I should say :D

My 'Toy' is a MK1 Astra GTE, fully restored and heavily modified with 2.0 16v Turbo which has been played with to push out nearly 300 bhp! It's a real monster with all that power through the front wheels. I've fitted a Quaife LSD which helps a bit but it's still got torque steer like you wouldn't believe! You need arms like Popeye to hang on to it at full boost!

Here's a pic or two for you. I hope you like it :P

Welcome to the forum, Del Boy (Sorry but someone had to say it).

You are already into 4-valve. 4-cylinder turbos so that's a start. What you need to is a turbo, 4 with similar or better performance and no torque steer. You only need room for one passenger because you will be driving to enjoy yourself. Some exotic styling would be nice to make it special. There must be a car out there that fits that description. What could it be?

Del

I currently drive the Astra GSi turbo and I can tell you it's nothing like driving the Esprit. I thought the Astra had some welly until I got the Esprit.

Nice Astra - looks like a *lot* of fun!

I'm very into small FWD cars for a giggle.... Have had half a plan for some time to stick an Elise engine in my Metro (along with some Bilstiens, 14" wheels and 4 pots ;) )

Nope, my car was a Citroen Ax Sport (well I had 3of those, in Finland total 50). First street racer was about 130hp. and the last one was about 160hp. (1/4 mile 13.8s). My last sport was ex. group-A track-car which we modified to street-legal.Those were quite rocketpockets ;) My brother had Citroen Bx Sport that was pretty fast too and pretty rare (20 in Finland).

You can see some photos from my sports in my web-page.

Yep, Peugeot MI16 and Citroen BX 16V used the same engines, there were two versions Kat-version (147hp) and non-Kat (160hp.).
