Blatt 1
Hello. I have an S1 Elise 111S from 2000. Recently when changing the timming belt for the third time I noticed the exhaust pulley had some cracks on the rubber harmonic damper inside. Car is working fine but this needs to be sorted out. Called several Lotus dealers, Rover parts dealers and no pulley is available (Lotus P/N A111E6353 or LHB101330 on the pulley). Apparently the option is to fit a pulley with no rubber damper like the Vernier ones. My problem is that I'm guessing the harmonic damper is there to prevent a failure on the timming belt. I do understand I can fit rigid cams and the rigid pulley but I would like to keep the engine stock with the VVC system working. My question is if anyone has experienced this problem and what was the solution? Thank you in advance. João
