And green. I appreciate the you've already discounted some of these but thought they might be useful for others looking too.

Can't go green - already have 2 of then at Newlands and you might want to leave the world of spray tan at some point and return to Surrey. :P

I priced on up in Toxic, with grey alcantara and matching (toxic) stitching. It would have been a big risk, but now they have actually made one in Toxic I might have gone for it. The deal however on mine was too good to pass up and I love it.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

I've not seen a colour on the 400 that I don't like!

Obviously I love my Racing Green - with yellow calipers, you've got the classic Lotus combo

Essex Blue is a lovely colour, you won't go far wrong there.

I'm yet to see what Daytona Blue looks like on the 400, but always thought it looked amazing on the S1 SR.

Don't rule out Black with red leather, in the flesh it looks positively sinister.

@Colin P do you mind me asking what the premium on the toxic green would have been? I love my metallic grey but I have an aching for colour on my next car.

IIRC the price for the paint was about £4500, but it obviously meant a factory order and using the "Exclusive" price list which means you pay for every little thing and for which there seemed little or no price flexibility. To be honest I'd decided I would not buy new at that price.

There was an identical car to my HE with 1500 miles on it at Oakmere (car taken to an event by Scott Walker and Oakmere bought it) and I was going to look at that, but Hofmanns did me a proper deal on mine and for the relatively little extra I have the comfort of running it in myself. Don't regret the decision for a minute.

Basically buying the (admittedly in stock, but new car with a different dealer) Hethel edition which is directly comparable spec wise to the car I priced up saved me about £10K and that didn't include the forged alloys. So it's not just the book price, but the effect it has on your ability to negotiate.

That's a bit of an increase, special order 'Lotus' paint like Toxic Green was £3k (plus VAT) when I ordered my Sprint scheme... Non Lotus paint was more.

@KalliLet's take the man math's to the only logical conclusion. Sport 410!!! :devil:

@Colin P That event at oakmere was my first drive of the Evora and I took that green car out to try the IPS :) It was impressive but I decided to stick with manual in the end.

Sounds like a similar situation to me when I bought. I found an unregistered stock car at a price too good to refuse. It worked out about £5k cheaper than 'best' price that Oakmere wanted for the orange demonstrator with 3000 miles. £5k is very persuasive when choosing colour!

@pickle which rather confirms my concerns over how the car was run in. I cannot imagine customers test driving a car being too concerned about watching the revs, not loading the engine etc.

I wasn't aware what the event was and whilst I wasn't really imagining it being drifted round a track, nevertheless if you are test driving a car you want to see what it can do.

I'm looking forward to the morning...

I have a car in my mind, and will be discussing it tomorrow. Im somewhat contradicting myself from last night, but the price of speccing a car with some of the colour options isn't really worth it for me. I could imagine some are really picky, but given Canyon Red isn't on my radar now (the only reason I was going for a special colour), it opens up a couple of other avenues.

I have bought 2bular exhaust for my Exiges (S1 & S2) and my last Evora and was lucky with delivery times but can be a long wait.

Best way is to speak to either Craig Moncrieff Cars or B&C as I understand Jim now distributes them through these dealers.

Not anymore I believe. Too many delays etc with them.

I keep coming back to look at this, it's fair to say I'm quite taken. I'm in half a mind to enquire as to the cost of swapping mine for this. I'd have to do a deal to keep my forged wheels though.....

@Kalli any updates from today?

I've already spoken to Matt about this - he has some Forged he can put on for you. Give him a buzz.

As for an update on my side - I've decided to hold fire for the time being. The rush has been put on me by the looming changes to the tax, and whilst I still stick by that desire, the truth is the cost to get the car I want would be close to 80k, of which i'm not prepared to pay given what I know the profit margin being taken. As such, I've been tempted by the thought of a remaining Hethel Edition. Theres no doubt that its a fantastic looking beast, and I would nab it if I didn't have to finance. But the truth is, i'm steel reeling from the depreciation on my Exige V6. I've put 16,000 miles on it in 15 months, and whilst i've enjoyed every moment, it still has hurt! The only way i'd do that again is if the car I was getting was 100% what I wanted - and sadly, the Hethel i'm looking at has a couple of 'compromises'. I've been bitten once already by rushing in and choosing convenience over desire - and i'm paying for it. I'm not about to replace one evil for a greater evil :D

On the flip side, this might mean that I can have another 'bout' of patience for an Evora 400 Roadster :D Alternatively, the second hand market once a colour I want comes along.

I bought that very HE car you refer to. I saw the YouTube video at that event with someone revving the arse off it from cold! Bastards.

Good job I got an amazing deal! #stoleit
