Random wiring in the centre console area

Recommended Posts

Hiya chaps.

While fitting a new stereo DVD thing with a sat nav controlled telemetry thing, I had all the centre console apart behind the gearlevel. I've found a load of random wires that are connected to nothing, and look like the never have been!

I'm not actually in front of the car now, but there is a green one, purple one, black one and another one I can't remember going to female bullet connectors.

Following the loom back, it joins with one of those little yellow/white multi plugs with 5 connections on it (also not connected to anything) and then into the main loom.

anyone any ideas what this is for?

It's not some sort of heated seat wiring is it, for cars that had head seating as an optional extra?

Just need to check before I chop them out. I don't like random wires floating about..

Cheers..

One pair is for a heated seat option. I used it to power a small subwoofer behind my seat...

Another pair are for the seat belt warning in USA cars, does your seat belt latch have wires coming out of it?

This makes sense.. I expect this is what they will be for! Cheers for this.

My car didn't have the wires in the seat belt latch.. even before I took them out and fitted 4 point harnesses :D)

I may then use this wiring for my telemetry device I am fitting :)

I would not touch them, as they are definitely for connecting the PEKTRON inverter. If you look closely on the small print on the cables I am sure you will read Pektron on it... : :D:):D

What? what's a pektron inverter? am I missing something here :D

Actually.. further to that, a google search found the answer to my own question.

Don't worry.. I replaced my pektron inverter with a set of Pirelli P zero's!!
