What is the raised bar for that runs accross the dash? Seen that on a few cars but my car doesnt have it. Was this extra strengthening for the US market?

Thats a fine looking specimen of an S2.

 Couldn't help noticeing those houses in backgroung - all with tripple garages  - nice if you like your toys.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut!

Not sure what it is, but all Federal S1s and S2s have it. The rear valance is also correct original for a Federal S2.

It's a foam crash pad for the passenger's head to bounce off in a crash.

Says it's the nicest S2 around but Shah's looks much better. The bumpers are a bit second-hand, he says the headlining is coming loose and a few things look a bit tatty but it's attracted some good bids which is a good sign (providing they are real).

Don't count yourself out yet! The high bidder/the one who outbid you has only been registered for a week . . . There is a fairly decent chance that Bidder 14 is a fake or might reneg on the deal. Maybe you will get a "second chance" offer in a few days . . . :)

For what it's worth, depending on the recent and needed maintenance and other details of that car, I would expect it to sell for somewhere between $14k - $17k because it really is exceptional for a nearly all-original S2. I was surprised to see his reserve met at around $12k or whatever it was.

yeah your right, just have to sit back and see what happens, perhaps I'll have a little luck. I got a call on a 85MY turbo in GA with 51000mls and full service history. The owner says it has been pampered but the interior is really quite rough.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...p;rd=1&rd=1

why would an owner who says he pampered his car let the interior full into such a state?

Bidding finished at $13100, buyer is located in Denmark. So if the sale goes through this S2 will be heading across the pond :crybaby:

I will keep my fingers crossed that something goes wrong and the seller will come back to me with a second chance option, if not will keep looking.

I have to confess that I am looking at a 1975 Elite out of CA, it's very very clean with 50k mls & it's a good price

When all is said and done, it will cost $1000 to ship that car to the coast and another $1000 to ship it to Denmark. There is still a lot of opportunity for things to not work out. . . .

If the deal does go through, we better see the new owner on this forum!
