Popular Post Bravo73 1,340
There is a thread running over on lotustalk by someone in the USA who is converting an Evora to run on electricity (EV): http://www.lotustalk.com/#/topics/390674?page=1&_k=pg3gmy A vid has also recently been posted on YouTube regarding the build: It will be interesting to see how it compares to Lotus's own hybrid prototype (414E) from a few years ago:
hedgerley 449
When Elon Musk bought the Bond S1 Esprit (which he mounted in the Tesla design studio to provide inspiration.....) he talked about putting a Tesla drivetrain into an enlarged Esprit body, making it watertight and going diving. He reckoned a production run of 10 or so at a $1m a pop. Wonder what happened to that?

Bazza 907 1,081
At a $1m a pop I think I'd need a 'sub' to buy one.

Gold FFM Colin P 678 Posted March 21, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 21, 2017 Back seats removed for battery space. Who'd want a car with only 2 seats. On the plus side they have taken an S1 and want to model the dash on a late model oodi. Quote A Lotus is for driving, pork is for breakfast.

ephancock77 26
Very interesting watch! Can't help but wish Lotus had themselves perservered with their own EV model. Really shows what an Electric powered Evora is capable of.

alan 37
I was down for one of the first Evora's but ended up with a Tesla Roadster. This would be the perfect upgrade for me.

alan 37
If thats the 414E I tried to persuade them to sell them - quite a few willing buyers at the time but got the impression it was a project done because there was (government) funding available not because they wanted to make it. Such a shame - they were ahead of the curve with the move to EVs and are now behind.
Bravo73 1,340
That is the 414E and they ended up selling the only one to Stuart!
alan 37
Awesome Stuart - well done getting it. Somewhat jealous as I see from your signature you also have the active suspension Esprit, was that the one that was stored outside? I tried to buy that one as well but they said no. At least after I asked they cleaned it up and put it on display inside. Apologies if you have described your experiences with the 414E somewhere already if so please let me know where.
