Remote hatch release project

Something a little different.. Recently added remote lock/unlock to my 1994 S4 and after seeing that the remote had a trunk release button thought I would find a way... Here is a link to the process, etc. and a video below.

Very cool,  My only concern would be can it be overidden,   As in the event of an emergency wit loss of power supply and needing to open the boot can it be done ?  I am thinking engine fire or electrical breakdown ?   

Mr Colin Chapman himself would also hope that the motor does not weight much either

The OE cable release is still there as a backup.
