edwatters
Been looking around for insurance now I'm joining the Lotus fraternity and had an excellent quote from Matt at Classicline. Seems like an excellent quote although limited mileage 5k with option to extend to 7.5k if required. Any advice on alternatives or am I good with what I've found? Thanks in advance

edwatters
Thanks, tried AIB but they said they couldn't cover track days ?
mickv
Yes that appears to be right. It's disappointing that AIB don't have insurers on their books who are willing to cover trackdays. I got a reasonable quote form Classcline. I then went to Competition Car Insurance, filled in a quote form, and received a quote that was 2.5 times what Classicline had quoted. I found that odd, as there are plenty of people on here who seem to use CCI - they were just nowhere near for me and wouldn't have thought I'm a bad risk - lots of NCB, clean licence and fast approaching 50 years old. pete
it`s the "fast approaching" that insurers don`t like Quote hindsight: the science that is never wrong

I'm up for renewal soon and although I'm currently with AIB, I probably won't be going back to them. PM if you want to know why not. I also require trackday cover so my list of companies to call is: CCI, Henderson Taylor, Classicline, A Plan and REIS.
edwatters
Classicline seemed great, will see what happens when I take up the quote in the next few weeks. Although I hope I never need them ?

I used to be with Haggerty Insurance who included track cover, they were very good people but just got greedy when it was time to renew! They were about £100 more than AIB but did include track cover, were not willing to "discuss" the price, would rather loose a customer. Maybe check the policy wording, you may not be insured for that one. Aib told me it was impossible to get agreed value insurance on my elise, and tried to tell me that a policy requiring an mot was suitable for my project car. Not impressed. esprit22
Dropped AIB, insured Lotus with Classic Line yesterday, track days included in policy Guess that until AIB realise what is important to people who own "sports cars" then they will continue to loose customers. Gold FFM C8RKH Posted March 23, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 23, 2017 Dealt with Classicline yesterday re the VX220 and confirmed track cover - they were very efficient. Renewal from them for the Evora came in today - happy with the price and terms so will likely just renew. They do seem to be on the ball at the moment. Quote I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.
