NMEG April meet

Chocks away chaps, the formidable squadron flies again!

NMEG would like to invite Esprit owners near and far to join them at our April meet.

The April meet for NMEG is a return visit to the RAF Museum at Cosford and to see the NEW Cold War exhibition .

The new exhibit takes up 8000sq feet and opened this February.

The museum has a collection of over 70 planes and some are now suspended in flight attitudes.

We should have a dedicated parking area in the museum car park. Admission to the museum is FREE. Hopefully we will be able to park our cars with one of the aircraft in the background. They have them dotted around the site on the grass verges.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Si...........of course its ok. We look forward to you joining the squadron.

Howard,

Are we meeting somewhere for the jouney down or just making our own way? Think last year a couple of us (certainly me and Carl) met up beforehand. Think you were on car parking duties :)

Suppose we might have a north/south split, so two convoys might be the order of the day.

Count me in

Count me in too please Howard. This is a great place to visit and there are some great roads around the area too.

Looking forward to seeing you all and if anyone is planning on going M6 southbound to the meet, shout up and we can Convoy in to make the most it. :)

Unfortunately I can't make this one as I have to pick my sister up from Heathrow that morning. Drat and double drat! As an ex RAF guy I would have been really into this one!

See you all at Donnington this weekend.

Regards

Mat

Given my experience so far (the Secret Mission, an abortive attempt at a hoon with CarlC, and see my post this evening in the Donny convoy thread), I'm a bit nervous about saying I'll be there. I certainly intend to be there, but if I commit to it, knowing my luck my daily drive will expire too! Bearing in mind the date of this meet, I can seriously imagine fate playing some cruel joke on me.

Assuming Chris Neil's have everything sorted by then, I'll be dying to take the green meanie out for a hoon, so I think you can tentatively count me in.

Howard,

If Anita's bringing that jerk with her then cross me out :(:)

Seriously, I'm still awaiting a sniff of V8 :( . Hopefully, I'll be mobile by the Oxford run, so see you all then.

i have been driving my Esprit as a everyday car since Saturday, owing to killing my recently purchased Omega (head gone) this is now sold for a huge loss and i got a Honda now :(

as the overtime has been very poor this winter, and with all the bad deals i have had recently, i am totally brassic, i am even going to find it hard to find the money to get the cam-belt done, and that's if i can get Troy to do it!

Anyway, i am going to have to cut down on the events and general spending this year :crybaby:

:( look on the bright side, i have had lovely weather to drive my car to work the last few days :D

I will still be there on Sunday chaps and as for the weather B)

but i will be passing on the meal :)

Sorry to hear about the Omega Dave.

At least your Honda shouldn't be a money trap. I'd recommend them to anyone (and no, Kimbers isn't paying me to say that!)

i just had a email off the lad that brought the Omega, he DROVE it home the 70 miles to northhampton, he left my house at 10.45am, he got home at 6pm !!! good job he knew it had a blown head :)

[edit]

arr, just had another email, apparently he went to sutton coldfield field first and compleatly flushed out the colling system and fitted a new water pump(which helped), and left there at 4.30. which is about 60 miles from his house. then part of the exhaust by the turbo fell off about 10 miles from his house. :)

boy , am i glad that car is gone :)
