Fantastic Video George,  have just browsed through it quickly but will watch later on,    Good fitness routine with the Esprit lol,

Great news on the Esprits new workplace and thumbs up to the bodyshop  :thumbup:Q

Very intesting to see the colour match for the cortina,  looks fantstic and a great way of producing a suitable colour to panel blend , top stuff.

One question on the Dolphin glaze,  does it dry as solid as a rock or can some of it be a little rubbery if you know what i mean ?

I think it's time to scrap SOUP and start the Slide Hammer Channel. Episode one; listing all the parts of a slide hammer.

Great video,  glad to see someone finally produce a decent video showing all the bodyshell bolts and a lifting of the bodyshell to boot

Chassis from the pics looks in good order !   Are you goint to look a galvanising it for future protection ?

Look forward to the next vid, and hopefully with as much esprit porn as this one lol.

It dawned on me that I'd never seen a shell being lifted which seems strange given the amount of times it's been done by guys in their garages and gardens. It's why I set up as many cameras as I could, and sods law the only one that actually worked was my phone!

No chance with the galvanising, aside from originality it's dodgy in terms of warping and it adds weight. In this build it's not worth it. It'll be a predominantly dry weather car. The only time it'll get wet is when I'm on GT and get caught out, no biggie.

Next few vids will be Esprit heavy for sure ;)

PS, there are four more bolts I didn't mention because they'd been removed in an earlier episode. Two pairs on the bulkhead on either side of the backbone the go through to two flat flanges sticking up from the fore part of the engine cradle.

Superb episode. I'm inspired to get on with my TE and get to the body off stage soon.

Thanks man, making changes and honing the output so glad it's hitting the right chord.

Just go for it with the Turbo, I got sick of being the guy with the ratty cars, which is not how things started out. I'm keeping the idea of a properly put together Esprit in the forefront of my mind. Trips to Paris, Napoli, Athena... where the GT fancy takes me.

I'm currently trying to motivate myself to finish the Range Rover, been under it all afternoon. Came in to check the weather outlook and see if I can shirk the rest of the work for today. Groan.

George, this lives near me, and yes the interior is red too! Looking at the standard of the 'soft top' I suspect its after market!

Thanks dude. Did you notice the chains? I borrowed them for the lads next door. When I was done using them I noticed a link on one of them that was cut right through one side, so when I went to drop them back I mentioned it to the lads [they're mechanics]. The guy looked at it and said oh yeah... you realise these were clamps right? All of a sudden the yellow paint makes sense. You aint seen me 😂

All the little things are slowly adding up on the Esprit, I'm not looking forward to the calls to suppliers for parts but I've plenty of elbow grease style work to put into a lot of stuff before I need to go looking for parts so it's all good.

Flicked through this latest episode, will watch it all at a later date,   the tent and rations was top notch idea   Glad the cortina found a good home, gutted some scumbag tried to steal it from its new owner :o

Glad the lumps finally out,  everytime i see the S2 bodyshell it looks better and better, does it need paint ?   or does the camera hide the blemishes ?

Keep up the great work

Hi George.

You are considering  to make the muffler repackable? I did that to my S2.2 muffler recently. It works out great.

Instead of chains I like using hoisting straps to remove the engine. It is strong flexible, no metal on metal etc... Of course I can loan them from my work, where they use them all day.
