nerobi
If you are not satisfied,i understand. But don't call it another exige with options. It is not.You are confusing it with Carrera / Carrera S / Carrera GTS.
Popular Post Crouchy
I absolutely love it but I simply cant afford what would be a £90k car by the time you add a few nice options. In my opinion Lotus are playing a dangerous game pricing it so high its almost getting into the big boy ball park and with lotus tech and build quality they quite simply cant compete in that market. Having said that if someone would like to order the below car in full on cadbury spec then I will happily buy it from you in 12 months time with a huge discount.
The Pits
Hi @Fortis, yes remember your MSG S2 well. One of only two cars, looked gorgeous and was the inspiration behind me ordering an MSG V6 Cup, still the only RHD Cup car believe it or not! I agree with @nerobi looks like a lot of work has gone into this car, unique front and rear clams, driver adjustable TC, uprated aero, 40% more downforce, wider rear tyres - not bad just for 60 cars. @Crouchy if you pay me the depreciation upfront, it's a deal!

NW76
Great looking car ... lots and lots of things I like. Still some I miss: - no LSD? - TFT AIM / Motec Display - Shorter gear ratio in 5 & 6th gear - ... But honestly the most tempting release since I bought my V6 CR in 2015. Anyway, I am too far down the road to even consider changing now for a minute. My EX 460 probably (with the right driver ;-) ) is already a couple of seconds faster in Spa then the 380 Cup will be. Some may say this is not a fair comparisson, I say it clearly is. All in, I have spent significantly less then a bare bone no Option 380 Cup will costs and I already have the TFT display, the charge cooler and a 7300 rpm rev limit ;-) Nevertheless ... a great looking car, good package and very tempting car. If I wouldnt have mine already, I probably would take the 380 Cup.
Popular Post Gashead1105
Agreed. At 90k plus once you add the a/c, track pack etc it's got a lot of competition. My V6 with a silly paint job was 2/3s of that 2 years ago and, while this cup is no doubt going to be a few seconds quicker round a given track it won't be 30% quicker and it will be a whole lot less civilised on the road. At 60k I think a V6 engined exige is a performance bargain, even more so second hand at 45k, but at 90k on the other hand it isn't. Having said that, if there are 60 wealthy enthusiasts for the brand worldwide (and I hope there are) they will all be sold and that is good news. Personally though, I'd buy a Gt4 (sorry), or an R8 or even an F430, and not take the depreciation hit or more likely a 400 and have a massive chunk of change left over as well. And keep the current V6!
Taylor
Actually Lotus releasing these slightly tweaked cup versions with a much higher price tag I think helps with everyones risiduals on their Cup350's etc. I think the fact Lotus are doing this increases the value on older cars as it makes them look like a bargain. It seems a good strategey for Lotus. NA evoras seem to have gone up in price or at least heald steady for some time with the 400 coming out.
NW76
Agree - the current Lotus pricing strategy with big steps closer towards the premium sportscar segment, will help all our residuals.

But I'll place my bet on a 3-11 instead...it won't be THAT MUCH more expensive and it's residual value should hold its ground for a while..... a pity they didn't look for worldwide road registration... Radical could do it with the RXC and SR3 SL...why not Lotus ??? 4 minutes ago, The Pits said: METALLIC RED WITH red detailing and rear view mirrors red .....YES... Crouchy
Or as close to pewter grey as my naff skills can get. I have a soft spot for this one as my current exige is pewter but I couldnt order a second car in the same colour

NW76
Looks pretty good... I must admit... WOW this wing really is great... only the exhaust needs a twin pipe imho... Will the 285 wheels fit on the V6 CR?!? ... they really make a difference...

LF1
That's a relief. I was getting worried Lotus would not release a car suitable for the registration EX16E CP I grabbed last year in anticipation. I'm thinking Ardent Red again to match our Elise 2 Quote Lotus Register - https://www.lotusregister.com
Mark030358
I really hoped it would be a 410 engine, then I would have bought onE. Instead have took a 380 with options. And as the warranty starts to expire I'll Komotec it. You can bet a supercharged 410, when it eventually arrives, and it will ( probably November ?), will start at +£90k, thus with options will Exceed £100k. An article I read maybe two months ago quotes the CEO as saying this will be where the price is for the next generation Exige, which is probably too expensive for most, and is a real pity.... cheers mark
Popular Post vd9
Somehow people do not want to read the announcement and insist on overly high pricing, but in fact it is well specced as is. Track pack is standard, almost all the carbon parts are standard, your basic extra cost options are floor mats, aircon and motorsports upgrades (harness, kill switch, fire extinguisher). Special colour costs the same for any car. In fact high spec Sport 350 is more expensive than similar spec Sport 380, and high spec Sport 380 is pretty much the same money as Cup 380 while missing some unique elements (wider tyres, special carbon parts, vents, etc.). So for those willing to pay, each next version up is a good value. The only actual problem with these is "track-ready car" being too loud for most of the tracks... Talking about aftermarket tuning is irrelevant, I believe, as it is almost always much cheaper than factory solution. Those are just different paths and cannot be directly comparable. It's almost like saying that P1 is nothing good of a car as you can get a much faster vehicle after spending £0.5m on 675LT.
Gold FFM JayEmm Posted April 21, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted April 21, 2017 This does look awesome but I fear there are too many model stuff and variants in room short a time and the prices are too close to the Evoras, IMHO the 380 sport should have been this, with the 350 retained as the more "civil" option, having the 350 and three flavours of 380 available helps no one. Also from my limited knowledge of "cup" cars this does not seem to be one. I expected the race version had somewhat taken over from those, and that Lotus decided the Sport 380 was hardcore enough. Obviously not... Quote James Martin (JayEmm) Director of Photography & Car Enthusiast Follow my Lotus adventure online! www.jayemm.com
