I'm a modern man. I hug. It's fine.

Back slightly on topic, @Simon on tour if you want a car that is only ever any good at full chat, try a BMW Z4 M Coupe. Hideous at anything less than 7/10ths.

Here's some picks. Please forgive me for the Evora pick I will clean it today :)

Compaire the engine bays of the cars. Please lotus fix this! Do you lot ever look outside?

The lines on the roof are masking tape edges and this is how the car was sent to me after the 3 months back at lotus hq.

I stated earlier that when flat out I really enjoy the Lotus, find it horable all other times. I am very board in the uk and have alway fancied motorsport.

So I'm thinking maybe I could race it?

Is it suitable for events like the lotus cup, or should I have a exige instead?

Then I would put up with driving in traffic etc usual crap to get to race the car!

I no both the porches are the top speck. But both cars in lower speck can be had for the same cash as the lotus and the lower speck cars are of the same quality.

I did not exspect the lotus to be quite as well tested or finished as the porches but it's a million miles away and for all our sakes and they need to improve.

A brilliant design has been tainted by cost cutting and lack of testing.

That's at the CEO!

Is the door closed on the 400 in the pic above? Doesn't look like it.... if it is, then that panel gap is dreadful!

Yep that's closed! Looks much worst close up.

See my frustrations now?

I think lotus should replace my prototype car with something finished!

Maybee an apology?

Leaving the car for a year, I really don't understand. I've heard of people driving a car to "blow out the cobwebs" but in your case it seems quite literal?

Surely you either want the problem fixed, or return the car? If you've not even turned a wheel in it for a year why have you now suddenly got fed up with it and felt the need to come online and moan about it?

I'm very confused with this thread. I understand issues can cause stress. But, am I missing the issue that prevents the OP from driving the car?  Especially not drive it in a year?

If indeed the car is causing that much stress, it is best to follow the advise already given and sell or trade it in. Life is too short to stress over some niggles from a car.

Best of luck with however you proceed :)

The brand name of the car appears to be short by 2 letters. Oh, and the engine gets wet.

I'm curious to know what the OP does for a living that involves 4 months criss-crossing Europe in a couple of black Porsches, whilst leaving an unwanted 75K car depreciating nicely back at home for a year. I'm also not quite sure that being "not from cash" has any relevance with regards to the quality issues of his 400.

I think most of us accept that there are valid problems here, but just abandoning the car for a year and then sounding-off on TLF with threats of court action against Lotus might not have been the best way of asking for advice.

English was never my strong point being Dyslexic.

And yep I've done well!

legal proceedings take a lot of time.

My porsches are touring cars, no real events to enter.

What on earth have pictures of a Panamera got to do with it?! Please, no more, I'd much rather see pictures of a faulty Evora!

No you can't race your Evora 400. It's clearly a dreadful car, sell it cheap to someone on here who'll give it a good wash and see those masking tape marks magically disappear!

Most bizarre thread we've had on here in some time.

I stated I liked the car when driven flat out. So racing it would make some sense.

The panamera pick are showing a properly designed engine bay that protects the belts and bearings. That cars been off-road, in snow ,up mountains, though desert and intense rain and looks like new.

I just think the OP should sell it. Cut his losses and keep on buying Stuttgart's finest as he obviously prefers their products.

Reading again the OP's posts the impression, and it is just that an impression, is that he is having a laugh. Just how it comes across.  I mean "ooo, I'm bored when when I'm in the UK, oh, maybe I could race it. Yeah, I'll take my normal showroom Evora 400 and enter it into the Lotus Cup. Yeah, cool, that sounds like a blast"......  obviously some paraphrasing here but you get the general idea or maybe I'm the one who is taking the piss....

Yep its you!

Couple of things here on previous post I don't quite get. Not cash born, but can afford to have a 400 which he doesn't like but leaves sitting for a year. Loves the Porker but wants to race a 400, but not cash rich, several comments on quality of the work but has not simply taken it back and just said fix the bloody thing. Depreciation on this car will be a fair bit so why not either get it properly fixed and sell it on.

Even as previously suggested give it to high end dealer on sale or return. Better still, let LotusRescue get it seen too, then they can sell it on on his behalf.

But they would have to keep it for a while as a test driver just too make sure all is well.

I was not born with cash. I'm not a spoilt rich kid.

And that is relevant and needs a callout out? Nobody on here said you were so curious you need to raise it.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

I really don't understand why you don't just hand it back to the dealer to sell on your behalf and be rid of it, clearly you've lost all faith in it. I know there will be a depreciation hit, but money doesn't appear to be the major problem and as others have said, life's too short to stress about cars. Get rid and move on if you can afford to!

This thread is turning into something that I could read on pistonheads. Comments on the OPs spelling or questioning his lifestyle and background are making it personal, which it shouldn't be.

I'm taking the thread at face value and seeing as someone just venting his frustration. If I'm being taken for a ride so be it.

Thanks Pickle :)
