wheel adapters

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to purchase new wheels for my 2002 V8. I've sourced some Volk TE37's which are forged and extremely light. The issue is that I must use adapters for the correct bolt pattern of 5 x 108 as the wheels are 5 x 114.3. The offsets on the wheels will be perfect with spacers at 25mm for the front and back.

I can have custom adapters/spacers made using billet alloy. These are claimed to be extremely strong and durable, more so than many custom rims. Has anyone had any experience using similar adapters and are they safe? I am running 25mm spacers from PUK in the rear right now and have had no problems at all. Bolts are always tight and no vibrations.

BTW- wheels are 18 x 9 front and 19 x 10.5 rear. thanks for any input you may have!

What are the Volk wheels offsets?

What are the Volk wheels offsets?

18 X 9 are +40, so with the 25mm spacer, they will actually be +15.

19 x 10.5 are +25, so with the 25mm spacer, they will actually be at O. My current 25mm spacer on the stock rears pushes the wheel out the perfect amount. No adverse handling.

There's a dude on Piston Heads that did this and of course I will be doing this soon. If you can not find him by searching PH email me and I will send you his contact information.

Just make sure you get the CENTERBORES correct. This is even more important than the offset, IMO.

I had a long conversation with a BBS engineer about this a while ago too. He had actually designed such adapters for an Esprit back in '95 for Pebble Beach. He said if done right it should not be an issue... even on the track.
