2010 Evora boot release button installation

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I'm new to the forum, recently got a almost new 2010 Evora NA.

Is really a sweet ride but want to update it a bit to make daily life with it more bearable.

Other than the key and the emergency level under the back seats, is it possible to install a boot release button on button cluster on the dashboard? I realize the newer S1 evoras after My 2012 have it as standard?

You can definitely add the dash button from the MY12+, but the wiring harness is different, so there isn't a connector there to plug in. I believe the MY12+ use this button to connect to the alarm module, which relays the button press to the ICM and then on to the boot release latch.

That's interesting, I've had thoughts about a boot button being useful but not addressed it. If anyone is doing or has done and got pics that would be great.

I'll get around to it at some point.

If you pull the trim off there will be a hole with two connectors, one for heated seats and one for the boot. It's obvious if they are not there. From memory it's late 2010/ early 2011 it become an option. I will see if I've got any pictures when I get back off holiday.

That's what I thought too, since the remote does it. Has anyone here successfully installed it? Part numbers and photo instructions would be a god-send.

Thanks a lot! Photos meaning you've done it before? Think that removing the dash for this mod would be an intricate job.

My 2010 had the wiring so worth pulling the trim panel and having a look.

How to pull the trim panel?

Yes I've done it before. Only the trim panelled needs to come off. They can be a bugger to get off. One of the clips you can reach from behind ( by the steering column) and pinch it to help remove it. For the others I found it easier to slide some wire round and behind the panel so it can be pulled out straight.  If you try and pull the edges it normally twist the panel and is hard to remove.

Its just the switch pack, have a look on deroure to get the part number. It has the heated seat switches on there as well but they are not as easy to sort!
