Kiwi-boy
For two months I have been enjoying my 1989 S4 Turbo Esprit, I can't figure out how to remove the sun roof !? The car came with the roof storage bag & wind deflector, so I expect it does indeed come off. The sunroof opens ok, just can't get it to un-clip. I'm not sure if its supposed to, I don't want to force anything on a 28 year old car either. -does anyone have these style of latches ? -does it actually remove, if so how? Bibs
Pull them forwards so the plastic bits connecting to the window surround are horizontal, and then tug hard! s4simon
I concur with Bibs - tug quite hard. They are a little firm. But overall this is the easy part. Trying to store the roof in the boot, now that can be a real struggle. Kiwi-boy
Thanks Bibs & everyone, much appreciated. Worked as described, right down to the challenge of fitting in the boot. Dont think the roof had been removed for years, quiet hard to get free
Bibs
Good to hear. It'll get easier then as you both get the hang of it and the mounts see some use Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Gold FFM Chillidoggy Posted June 8, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted June 8, 2017 I suggest you bag the roof up before stowing it, you don't want to damage the paintwork! Quote Margate Exotics.
